How far would you go
for your children?

About The Loan Sailor

Jim Chandler is the kind of dad that any child would want as their own—loving, goofy, always present. One frigid evening just before Christmas he comes home from work to a cold, silent house. His wife, Maria, and their two daughters are gone.

Later that night the awful truth hits home. Maria has taken their daughters with her to Brazil to stay at her wealthy parents’ villa. Every attempt to find out what has happened is met with icy rejection and Jim has no clarity or hope.

Banned!

Out of desperation, he flies to Brazil, but is stopped at the airport because of an inexplicable no-fly ban. Brazil’s legal system has branded him a threat to his family.

Denied!

Despite working with top child abduction lawyers, an obscure clause in the law threatens Jim’s hopes of seeing his children. The legal battles are just beginning when he receives further devastating legal news.

Out of sheer desperation, with official channels exhausted, Jim tries riskier, uncertain ways to be with his daughters. How will he do this? He completely remodels his kitchen, requiring a bank loan. Except that he never actually remodels his kitchen.

As he struggles against close family and corrupt officials united against him, he gets help from the unlikeliest of people and the most generous of strangers.

A journey into the depths of love

Jim begins to navigate a treacherous 5,000 mile solo sea voyage. It is a trip filled with helpful allies and marred by relentless opposition, a quest that challenges Jim to his core.

Embark on a life-changing journey

A bar fight at the start of his voyage followed by jail time and the fear of deportation threatens to end his journey almost the moment it begins.

The constant uncertainty throughout his voyage whether his plan will even succeed grows as he sails to his final port.

And if he manages to get into Brazil, will he even be able to see his daughters?

How far will one man go to be with his daughters? Jim’s unyielding determination to reclaim the unity stolen from him will astound you.

You’ll marvel at the lengths Jim will go to be with his children again. Jim’s journey has only started.
